Harbor View Medical Services, PC is pleased to welcome new physician Seem ab Malik, M D to t heir Mather Primary Care practice in Port Jefferson, NY.
Dr. Malik attended Lahore Medical and Dental College in Lahore, Pakistan, where she received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) medical degrees.
She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), the urgent treatment of cardiac arrest, stroke and other life-threatening medical emergencies. Additionally, Dr. Malik is PALS certified (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) from the American Heart Association. Her PALS medical skills enable her to diagnose and treat cardiopulmonary arrest and common conditions that may lead to cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children.
At the University of Florida, she completed her extensive research in emergency medical care, laboratory processing and safety, general surgery, trauma, and critical care patients. Dr. Malik is experienced in multi-professional clinical procedures and differential diagnoses from Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Pakistan, where she specialized in pneumocentesis and chest tube placement. Dr. Malik completed her observer ship program at the Kidney and Hypertension Clinic, in St. Augustine, FL.
She assisted in the publication of journal articles; "Clostridium Difficile Infect ions after Blunt Trauma," and " Different Forms of Stress Cardiomyopathy after Surgical Treatment."
Dr. Malik completed her residency training at Prince George Hospital, Maryland and John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, NY. She is an active member of American College of Physician and Pakistan Medical & Dental Council.
She is a compassionate physician and her key to effective care is listening to patients describe their symptoms and explaining to them the rationale behind the treatment plan is her main goal. Dr. Malik is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
