Biography
Nicole Siguencia, originally from Sayville, NY, received her master’s degree in Nurse Practitioner Studies at St. Joseph’s University. She completed her elective Gastroenterology rotation at Long Island Community Hospital where she proceeded to work after graduation.
Nicole knew she wanted to work in healthcare when her father drew ill from chronic disease at a young age. At that point, she felt helpless she couldn’t do more for him and vowed to help others as much as possible.
Early in her career, at the age of 16, Nicole worked as a nursing assistant while attending high school. Prior to working as a Nurse Practitioner, she worked as a nurse for over 14 years, including her work as a Nursing Supervisor at Long Island Community Hospital. There, she managed care from the ICU setting to the Emergency room. Her experience ranges from both hospital inpatients to outpatient office visits. Prior to joining Harbor View in October of 2022, Nicole worked at Brookhaven Gastroenterology.
She is currently dual certified in ANCC (American Nurse Credentialing Center) as well as AANP (American Association of Nurse Practitioners).
Looking forward, Nicole plans to further her education for her DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) — the highest level of nursing practice — dedicated to improving patient outcomes and translating research into practice. She will apply her clinical research study to her specialty of Gastroenterology.
She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, working outdoors, hiking and kayaking. Nicole also enjoyed studying multiple languages and religious studies in college, including Chinese, Arabic and Spanish, as well as Islamic and Christianity studies.
