Biography
Dr. Mehta received her bachelor’s degree at Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College in New York, received her master’s degree at New York Medical College, and her medical degree at New York Institute of Technology, College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY.
Dr. Mehta has been involved in research throughout her career, having worked in two clinical research laboratories at Columbia University Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center. She is currently pursuing her Fellowship in American College of Physicians (FACP), and certification in Obesity Medicine.
Her passion for medicine is helping patients to take charge of their own health, see their progress, and in primary care specifically, to assist patients to focus on preventative care and manage their acute issues utilizing the latest information and treatments. In addition to a patient’s physical well-being, Dr. Mehta focuses on mental health, assuring her patients that as a team, she can help them to live their healthiest life.
Dr. Mehta has recently taken up pottery, finding it both challenging and a good way to relax. She enjoys hot yoga, hiking, and cooking, as well as spending time with friends and family – especially over good food, board games and movies.
Dr. Mehta speaks English and Gujarati.
