The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded Mather Hospital four stars - the highest of any Long Island hospital - for patient experience, safety, and timely and effective care measures based on publicly reported data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) Survey. Only five hospitals in the New York metro area received four stars or more. CMS developed the star ratings to help patients and their families learn about hospital quality, compare local facilities and ask questions about care quality when visiting a hospital or other health care provider. Congratulations to the entire Mather family!
